We commit to ensuring the communications we produce are clear and accessible to the widest range of people.

We recognise our obligations under The Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 and the Equality Act 2010.

This website is built on WordPress, which an open source blog publishing and content management system, based on PHP and MySQL. It uses HTML 5 (HyperText Mark-up Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) to render content. Other technologies are also used including JavaScript.

We use a free WordPress theme called Blogum. This is why you may see advertisements on this website. We are unable to control what advertisements appear on the website and can’t guarantee that the content of the advisements or the content of the websites they link to will be accessible.

We recognise we have more work to do to make this website accessible.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

This website is not fully compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard.

Known Limitations

  • Many links are missing meaningful text and some links with the same destination may not have consistent descriptions.
  • Images may be missing alternative text and decorative images may be missing null alt text. Some linked images are also missing alternative text.
  • This website is not entirely navigable using a keyboard and may not be entirely compatible with assistive technologies such as screen readers.
  • Keyboard focus is missing in some areas of the site which may cause problems for users navigating the site using only a keyboard.

We are working to meet the compliance as specified in The Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 by the September 2020 deadline.

We aim to provide you with an initial response within 48 hours and will provide clear information about how we will deal with your enquiry.

If you feel we have not answered your complaint satisfactorily, please contact us at bajewellerydesign@csm.arts.ac.uk again. We will escalate your complaint to Giles Last (BA Jewellery Design Course Leader) who will work with the team who provides the service/content to get you a response.
