BA Jewellery Design student Scott Armstrong was announced as the winner of the Central Saint Martins BA and MA Jewellery Design student competition to design a new headpiece for the world renowned jewellery house Chaumet. Following the success of his design Armstrong’s work  Vertiges is currently on display in Beijing’s National Palace Musuem as part of the exhibition ‘Imperial Splendours: The Art of Jewellery since the 18th Century’ (11th April – 2nd July), a collection documenting the French jewellery house’s creations from the 18th century to the present day.

On Thursday 30 March the awards for the first Cross-border Design Contest were presented at Leolux in Venlo. First prize went to Anna Tuhus (26, Sweden), a student at Central Saint Martins in London, for her cherry-wood floor tiles laser printed with dried flowers and inlaid with coal dust. The design, Tuhus explains, was inspired by Limburg’s rich mining history.
