We are thrilled to announce that three first year Central Saint Martins BA Jewellery Design students have been named as winners of the British Art Medal Society’s annual Student Medal Project. The Student Medal Project encourages and promotes the art of making medals throughout art colleges in the United Kingdom. Each year over one hundred student medals, from as many as fifteen art colleges, are submitted for judging for prizes and selection for exhibition.
Gonçalo Camboa, wins Grand First Prize for (R)EVOLUTION, Gonçalo will be awarded £750 presented by the Worshipful Company of Founders.
Zoe C. Huang, wins the Prize for the Best Political Medal, for ‘The Herbie’, Zoe will be awarded £100, given by David Brodie in memory of John Herbert.
Kar Yan Luk, wins a merit award for I Can Reach Both Sides.
Congratulations to all three students, who will be featured in a catalogue to come out at the end of April. Some of the winners will also be selected to exhibit their medals in an exhibition at the University for the Creative Arts, Rochester, opening on 27th April.
