Three of our second year students were announced as winners of the British Medal Art Society’s Student Medal Project 2017. Joarla Caridad Madera was presented with the Grand Second Prize for Excellence for her medal ‘Hotdog’, Le Er Lee was awarded the Vision in Casting Prize for her medal ‘Holding Nothing’ and Ivan Leung Ka Ho was awarded the prize for Best Political Medal for his ‘Umbrella Movement’ medal. The awards were presented at the private view of the exhibition Celebrating Medals: Art in the Hand, at the Vittoria Street Gallery situated inside the Birmingham School of Jewellery.
