The Swarovski Design Project

Since the beginning of the year, final year students from BA Jewellery Design having been working with Swarovski and the V&A to respond to the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition.

On 13 June, as a conclusion to the project the ten shortlisted students presented their work as part of the Extreme McQueen: How to Wear Accessories Seminar at the V&A Museum. In front of an audience of over 150 people the students presented their research, development and final pieces.

The students presented alongside talks from Associate Lecturer Naomi Filmer, who presented ‘Wearing and Unwearing,’ Cultural Studies Lecturer, Dr Jacki Wilson, who discussed the Myth, Magic sand Masquerade Balls in relation to McQueen and final year student Evie Armstrong Clarke who presented her final collection in a ‘How to…’ session.
